Adjectives: form and place

An adjective agrees: -e for feminine, -s for plural. It mostly stands after the noun (une robe verte), a few short ones before it (une petite maison).

Why

You describe your new bike to a friend from Charleroi: un vélo vert. She tells you about her new jacket: une veste verte. Why does vert take an -e in her sentence?

To describe something you use adjectives: the colour, the size, the taste, what someone is like. In French these words change with the noun they belong to.

Veste is feminine, so vert takes an -e: une veste verte. You can hear it too: in verte you pronounce the t.
